International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

On September 16, the UN General Assembly declared the International Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer. This day has been celebrated by the world community since 1995 in memory of the global environmental problem.

Our educational institution was not left out either. Teachers Galushko LB, Sheremet IV together with students of groups C25 and 13 held an environmental event "Ozone Layer and its role on Earth" Students prepared in advance and presented their presentations on these topics

Group C25: Sidorova Valeria, Gutsol Julia, Drachuk Nelly, Sugak Pavlo.

Group 11: Gusak Eugene, Popov Alexander

Group 13: Makarenko Yuri

Attendees learned that the penetration of artificially created chemicals into the stratosphere, such as halogenated hydrocarbons and CFCs, destroys the Earth's ozone layer. The result of this process is an increase in the amount of ultraviolet radiation that reaches the planet's surface and adversely affects human health. Participants discussed the phenomenon of ozone holes, the impact of human activities on the atmosphere, watched a video about ozone and its environmental significance. And as a conclusion, the call was announced:

Each of us is able to influence the state of the ozone layer by limiting the use of ozone-depleting substances in the home!
